FAQ’S

1.0 Are your mixers made using Australian ingredients?

We operate under our ‘Australia First’ sourcing policy. Put simply, this means: if we can source the ingredients in Australia, we do. When it comes to produce and primary industry, Australia’s standards are amongst the highest in the world. We want to support our economy and our local communities and if we can do this while also putting the best quality ingredients into our drinks, why would we source inferior products from abroad? We don’t sacrifice quality for the economy and we never will. There are some products - like cranberry juice -  that Australia simply doesn’t produce in the quantity that we require so, in these instances, we’re forced to acquire our raw ingredients elsewhere. Even including these imported ingredients, our average quantity of Australian-sourced components, across all of our skus, exceeds 90%.

2.0 Are your juices real or do they come from concentrate?

All of our base juices ie. lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, watermelon etc. are ‘real’ juice and not reconstituted from concentrate. We work closely with the cooperative of farmers that produces our juices to ensure we are using the best quality juices that form the bulk of our cocktails. In a small number of our skus, there are some ‘supporting’ ingredients that we source as concentrates but this is not done as a cost-cutting exercise but rather to introduce the appropriate intensity into the mixer without using artificial flavours.

3.0 How do your mixers mimic so closely the drinks that I get from a bar?

Our Production team as well as our Product Development team are both headed by bartenders with combined decades of experience in the industry. It is always our highest intention to produce mixers that look, taste and feel like they’ve been made fresh in a bar so we draw on this wealth of experience and couple it with the best quality ingredients to ensure that every product we release is as reflective of ‘bar quality’ as possible.

4.0 Do any of your products contain alcohol?

No. All of our mixers are non-alcoholic blends of fruit, juices and artisan-crafted syrups designed to be combined with one base-spirit to create ‘classic’ versions of the named cocktail. This is not a limiting factor for the products, however, and all are suitable for  being served as mocktails or can be elevated with the inclusion of additional spirits or components to create more elaborate libations.

5.0 Can I make blended or ‘slushy’ drinks using your mix?

Yes. All of our mixers are originally created with the intention of being shaken but are just as well suited to being blended.

6.0 Are your mixers gluten free and Vegan-friendly?

Yes. All of our current mixers, with the exception of our Bloody Mary which contains Worcestershire Sauce, are both Gluten Free and suitable for Vegans.

7.0 What are the expiry dates of your products?

All of our mixers are created on real fruit and juice so they will not last forever. With our production process of pasteurisation and hot-filling bottles, however, we’re able to ensure 12 months shelf life from the date of production.

8.0 Where can I get Mr. Consistent mixers?

Mr Consistent mixers are only available online and via Rocklands wholesale distrubution.

9.0  Why do Mr. Consistent mixers taste so good?

We work closely with the cooperative that produces our juice and all of our citrus juices are extracted only from the flesh of the fruit rather than the higher-yielding and more cost-effective method of pressing the whole fruit, which fails to exclude the bitterness from the pith and harsh oils from the skin of the fruit.

10.0 Do your mixers contain artificial flavours?

No. All Mr Consistent mixers are free from artificial flavours and sweeteners.

11.0 I normally make my Margarita with Tequila and Contreau, why do I only need Tequila to make yours?

From the inception of our company, our team of seasoned bartenders has created artisan syrups to replicate various ingredients that you encounter in making cocktails. In our Margarita for example, we wanted the mixer to be full-flavoured but, as our products are non-alcoholic, we had to find a way to include the character of the Triple Sec (Cointreau) without adding it in its original, alcoholic state. Our solution was to create a syrup using extracts from Orange, Tangerine, Lemon, Grapefruit and Mandarin, which we balanced to mimic the flavours exhibited in Cointreau. This is then blended accordingly into our mixers, alleviating the need for anything beyond tequila and our mix to make the perfect Margarita.

We’ve utilised the same approach across a number of our skus products. Another example is a coffee syrup that we’ve created to replace the necessity for Kahlua or Coffee Liqueur in our Espresso Martini.

12.0 What equipment do I need to make your drinks?

To make the perfect cocktail every time, all you require is our mixer, a base spirit, ice, and a vessel to shake them in. Although dedicated drinks shakers and strainers are recommended for optimal results, you can use any container that can be filled with ice, shaken, and poured, in their absence.

13.0 Am I able to make more elaborate drinks using your mixers?

Yes our mixers are designed to make the classic versions of named cocktails with just our mixes and one base spirit. However, you can substitute spirits to craft delicious mocktails, or enhance your cocktail experience by adding extra spirits, fruits, sodas, etc.

14.0 Why are your drinks more tart/sour than other premix cocktails?

We have designed our mixers to emulate the cocktails served in bars, with a focus on the classic recipes that suit the bartender's palate. While some other products in the market offer sweeter versions of the same cocktails, we have opted for a more authentic approach. Furthermore, our base juices such as lemon and lime are made from real fruit juices, not from concentrates. As a result, the natural acidity of the fruit is more prominent in our mixers than in those made from reconstituted juice.
